Production of the 400 GT began in 1966 with the 4-liter 12-cylinder engine that had already been used in the last 23 350 GT models. Compared to its predecessor, the 400 GT was restyled and made roomier, resulting in the first proper 2+2 Lamborghini four-seater model.
