Automobili Lamborghini kicks off a series of tributes to the iconic aspirated V12 engine. Before transitioning to hybrid models in 2023, the brand wants to pay homage to the legendary power train. So today, the 1964 350 GT met with the Aventador Ultimae in Bologna city center: on the 106th anniversary of Ferruccio Lamborghini’s birthday, the first Lamborghini ever produced came face to face with the last V12 engine.

In 1963 engineer Giotto Bizzarrini created a 3.5-liter V12 engine that gave the jaw-dropping output of 360 CV with a spin of 9,000 revolutions per minute. In 1964 Paolo Stanzani took that incredible power machine and turned it into an engine suitable for road driving: the 350 GT was born, with an output of 280 CV for 6,500 rpm and a top speed of 250km/h.

Since then, the Lamborghini V12 has been a benchmark and an inspiration. In 2022 Lamborghini will pay homage to this tangible embodiment of its DNA with a journey through its history. Stay tuned.
