There are those who not only smash records, but also stereotypes. Like the Iron Dames, the all-female team whose motto is “Race to Inspire”, driving the incredible Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO #83.
Founded in 2018 by Deborah Mayer - race driver, president of FIA's Women in Motorsport (WIM) Commission, and Chairwoman of DC Racing Solutions - the Iron Dames project aims to change the face of motorsport, supporting women who want to enter this world and help accelerate its evolution, from drivers to engineers and mechanics. The team consists of Rahel Frey, Michelle Gatting, Sarah Bovy, and Doriane Pin. Get ready to meet them.
“The Iron Dames project is made up of motivated women who share a strong passion and motivation, pushing the racing world beyond limits and gender barriers,” said Deborah Mayer. “We race to inspire women to follow their dreams and take their first steps into the world of motorsport, because we have shown that anything is possible.”
The project is run by Iron Lynx, the Italian racing team chosen by Lamborghini Squadra Corse for the IMSA Endurance Cup 2023 and that, starting in 2024, will race in the FIA WEC with Lamborghini LMDh.
