After an electrifying final, Lamborghini has crowned the winner of its first ever eSports competition, The Real Race.

Last night, 12 expert sim racer finalists from 5 action-packed qualifying rounds battled for a place on The Real Race podium. In two heart-in-mouth online races, the first in Barcelona and the second at Mount Panorama, the drivers roared down rain-drenched straits and banged bumpers in tight chicanes. Demonstrating all their gaming skills, courage and tenacity, the twelve finalists fought to the end, but it was the German, Nils Naujoks, from the world-leading esports team G2, who roared across the line first, followed by the Italian Matthias Egger and the South African Jordan Sherratt.

In addition to the glory of being crowned the winners of this exciting tournament, the three champions have also won themselves the prize of three days at the Lamborghini headquarters where they will meet Lamborghini drivers, visit the company’s R&D simulator and even drive a real Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO on the legendary Imola raceway. As overall champion, Naujoks will also be presented with a Huracán GT3 EVO limited edition diecast model with in-game livery.

Originally organised by Lamborghini to meet the challenge of offering racing excitement during lockdown, The Real Race has been an amazing global success. The qualifying rounds attracted an incredible 1.5 million viewers and the adrenaline-rush final, hosted by motorsports celebrities David Coulthard, Federica Masolin, Emanuele Pirro and Pecco Bagnaia, confirmed that this unique esports tournament has exceeded all expectations.

The Real Race: more than a game.
