Urus has the extraordinary ability to combine the performance of a super sports car with the versatility of a SUV. Its design was a brand new challenge for the Centro Stile Lamborghini, and the sketches are nothing less that works of art that denote the main sources of inspiration of the car, which are deeply rooted in the DNA of the House of the Raging Bull.
“Expect the Unexpected”
The philosophy that guided the work of Mitja Borkert, Head of Design at Centro Stile Lamborghini, and of his team was to create an SUV with proportions never seen before, one able to attract attention wherever it goes: on the road, on the track, on the snow, on the sand or on dirt roads.
Inspired by Aventador and LM002
The first Super SUV in the world recaptures the futuristic design of the Aventador and merges it with the lines of the LM002. The result is a line that is at the same time sporty and majestic, one that reinterprets the iconic Gandini Line, the distinctive shape of the Lamborghini sports cars.
Details of the Countach
Urus inherits the low profile and acute angle of the rear windows, and details like the two diagonal lines on the front hood and rear fairing, from the Countach.
LM002, the Mother of Urus
Urus takes the large front air intake and wheel arches from the LM002. These elements are unexpectedly transformed to project the Sport Utility Vehicles sector into the future.
Not everyone knows that the triangular side air intake is another feature drawn from the LM, a stylistic signature that carries the Italian flag of the captivating design of Sant’Agata Bolognese.
