The “Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans”, also known as Circuit de la Sarthe, located close to the city of Le Mans in the Sarthe department of France, is a temporary track where one of the most important, famous and oldest endurance races in the world is contested: the 24 Hours of Le Mans, organized by the ACO – Automobile Club de l’Ouest. As of 2017, the total length is 8.467 miles (13.626 km), making it one of the longest circuits in the world. The circuit is characterized by the use of some sections of public road, normally open to traffic, and part of the Bugatti circuit.
