Watkins Glen International (nicknamed “The Glen”) is one of the most famous race tracks in America. It is located near the village of the same name in the State of New York, at the southern tip of Seneca Lake. It hosted the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix fifteen times (from 1961 to 1975) and the United States Grand Prix East a further five times (from 1976 to 1980). In addition, “The Glen” has served as a venue for all of the top American competitions, including Trans-Am, Can-Am, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and the famous IndyCar Series.
