This year, Lamborghini’s classic 2+2 grand touring sedan, the Jarama GT, celebrates its 50th anniversary.

Named after the Jarama river in Spain, an area famous for breeding fighting bulls, this perfect synergy of 1970s elegance and Lamborghini power was first unveiled at the 1970 Geneva Motor Show.

Sporting a classic, frontally-positioned Lamborghini V12 engine with double-body Weber carburetors and double overhead camshaft per bank distribution, the Jarama GT delivers an explosive 350 CV with a thrilling top speed of 260 km/h.

This dynamic level of performance is matched by the car’s distinctive design. Created by the legendary Marcello Gandini, the Jarama GT exterior flaunts sharp slanting lines and a hallmark wedge-shaped rear while its roomy interior features luxurious leather upholstery, air-conditioning and a charming dashboard.

In fact, this car was such a success that an even more comfortable version, the Jarama GTS, was developed and unveiled two years later.

The Jarama GT: a combination of distinction and drive that still excites 50 years on.
