Lamborghini Miura at Rétromobile and GQ Car Awards

1 2月 2020

The Lamborghini Miura has been stealing hearts over the decades, and this week stole even more. Lamborghini Polo Storico is showcasing two precious Miuras at the atmospheric Rétromobile classic car show taking place in Paris February 4-9. In the meantime, glossy lifestyle magazine British GQ has awarded this gem from the past for being the most beautiful car ever made…

Miura SVJ and P400 S at Rétromobile Paris

The Miura SVJ is an example of the rarest Miura, one of just four original SVJs made by the company inspired by the Miura Jota and built by special request. Originally painted black, with a black & white leather interior, the SVJ on display in Paris was built in 1973. Owner and German racing driver Hubert Hahne had the car repainted silver in 1977, but kept the black interior, and this color combination has remained ever since. In the early 2000s the car left Germany for Japan, and it has not been exhibited in public since then.
Lamborghini Polo Storico carried out a restoration for conservation purposes and its original conditions were peerlessly preserved and restored.

Alongside the SVJ is showcased the Miura P400 S built from spare parts – including bodywork, engine and suspension, as part of the “Certified Lines” concept showcased at the event. New genuine spare parts such as cylinder heads and bodywork are constantly being released by Lamborghini, providing ever greater scope for the authenticity of classic Lamborghinis to be preserved while also allowing collectors to use their cars with complete peace of mind.

GQ’s Most Beautiful Car Ever Made Award

In the meantime, on the other side of the English channel, the glamorous GQ Car Awards event gathered some of the most influential people from the automotive world in the luxurious Corinthia Hotel in London, where the Lamborghini Miura won the Award for Most Beautiful Car Ever Made, being recognized as the Best Automotive Icon by the lifestyle magazine par excellence British GQ. “When it arrived in 1966, the world momentarily stopped turning. By this point, racing cars were mid-engine but this was the first road car to be so.”

Classic Cars in Action: the Tour

From September 10-13, 2020, Polo Storico is organizing a tour for all classic Lamborghinis. It will start in Bruneck and offer participants the chance to drive their cars along a route spanning approximately 350 km in the Italian region of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, through the most stunning mountain passes in the Dolomites. During the event, there will also be celebrations for the 50th anniversaries of the Jarama and Urraco, and the 30th anniversary of the Diablo.
